Where do I park?

When you arrive for the Full Court Worship service, you have a couple of parking options: you can park at the south end of the campus by the Christian Life Center or in the north parking lot by the Sanctuary and the North Education Building.

Where is the Christian Life Center?

CUMC's Christian Life Center is located at the south end of the church campus. The Christian Life Center seats 350 for worship, with convenient access for the disabled. Enter the Christian Life Center by the driveway on the southeast side of the church. You'll find Full Court Worship immediately inside.

Will someone be there to answer my questions?

At the Christian Life Center, you'll find friendly people to say hello, answer any questions you have, and direct you to Full Court Worship. If you have kids, they can point you to Childcare in the North Education Building and help you register your children. While we have tremendous children's programming during the worship hour, please know that your children are always welcome to worship with you at Full Court Worship. You'll notice that most everyone is dressed comfortably, in anything from "office casual" to jeans and sneakers. You're cordially invited to have donuts and coffee between 10:30 and 11:00 at the Holy Grounds Café in the Christian Life Center lobby. Church-wide information is available at the Information Booth in the lobby area.

What can I expect on my first visit to Full Court Worship?

Before the service begins, you'll see large-screen video announcements of church-related events and become better acquainted with the astonishing variety of opportunities to worship and become more involved with the life of Christ United Methodist Church. During the service, the video screens are used to project scripture and song lyrics so that you can directly participate in worship as you feel comfortable to do so. The service begins with some upbeat music from Cindy Hurd and our superb Full Court Worship band, Testament, followed by a welcome and an introduction to the theme of the service. Someone will read the day's scripture, and the pastor will deliver the day's message. Testament does a great job leading our praise and worship music with a contemporary feel (keyboards, drums, guitars and vocalists). Methodists are a singing people, and song is a vital component of our worship!

Offerings are taken at Full Court Worship services, but please feel welcome on your first visit as our guest, with no pressure to give. Regular attendees will place their contributions in the offering baskets, which are passed around after the sermon. Even though we ask you to simply be our guest on your first visit, we hope you'll drop your registration card in an offering basket, so that we can be in touch and respond to any information you request. Church is about God and worship, but it's also about community and friendship, and we want everyone to experience a genuine warmth and friendliness at Full Court Worship.

How do I find what's going on at the church?

Each week we run activity announcements on our video screens in the half-hour before each service. These announcements let you know what's going on around the church.  You can also find out what's going on by reading The Spirit, our weekly church newsletter, or by stopping by one of two information centers at the church. Of course, the internet is the best way to learn about everything that is happening in the life of the church.

How do I find a Sunday School class?

CUMC offers a variety of Sunday School classes.  There are classes for all age groups. Click here for a listing of classes, or stop by our information centers for class times and descriptions.

What do Methodist believe?

United Methodists profess the Protestant Christian faith. We encourage you to read all about Methodism at the website of the United Methodist Church, attend any of our worship services, or take a class on Methodism here at the church. We hope you will always be eager to ask questions about the denomination.

Can I become a member of CUMC through Full Court Worship?

Absolutely. We welcome people into church membership. If you are interested in joining the church, please let any of our pastors know on Sunday morning, or contact Mary Harris at mary@cumc.com or 972-596-4303.

What is expected of members?

Full Court Worship expects church members to support the ministry with their prayers, their presence, their gifts, and their service. Toward that, we except members to:
   1. Worship regularly;
   2. Serve God with your hands by volunteering in an area of Christian mission and outreach;
   3. Strengthen your relationship with God by participating in one of our many small groups;
   4. Give financially to the church in proportion to your income.
